He is also a writer, and have written urban fiction, political essays, and poems.  He has completed multiple treatment programs, volunteered as a facilitator for Alternatives to Violence Program, and volunteered in the prison's hospice program. KAREN CHEN

Line Producer, Lighting Technician

B.A. expected in 2021 in Environmental Studies from Carleton College

Interests: Art, Sustainability & Environmental Justice

My experience in drawing and painting has familiarized me intimately with the effects of lighting and composition decisions in visual art. I seek to apply this aesthetic judgement to best frame and translate subjects' stories into evocative cinematography. I also bring learning from coursework in American Studies to bear on our angle as we consider how to relay and broadcast the stories of those people impacted by the defective American criminal justice system.
